Log Writing Contest
This is a Writing Log Contest. For those of you who don't know what a "log" is, it's basically a story or what some people might call a "fanfiction". This is about the crew, the USS Jaguar, and anything they may encounter or do. Feel free to be creative.
Your log may fall into four different categories:
Comedy
Action/Adventure
Horror/Dark
Warm and Fuzzy
They will be judged on:
Plot - is there one?
Realistic - is it believable?
Well written - is it easy to read and understand?
Spread of crew - incorporates more than a limited few
Level of writing
Age of author
Your story can be as short as you want it to be, as long as you got the storyline in and it's not missing anything. It can also be up to fifty pages or so. If you go over, that's alright, just try to get it around fifty or less.
Rules:
Keep it clean. This is a Kids' group, you know.
No deaths. Sure, kill off the nameless ensigns, but none of the real ones please. I'm sure no one wants to come around and find out they have been killed. Specially Admiral Knight. He's very big on being alive and all that. Don't ask me why.
Everything else is pretty much fair game.
If you have any questions about the rules or such, feel free to ask Admiral Knight or Captain Megan
Guidelines:
Plot. Must have plot.
Try to make this plot believable. If you put the ship against impossible odds, and we get out without a scratch, that's not really believable.
Don't focus the entire story around your chracter. Incorporate others as well. Your character can be a main part, of even THE main part, but don't let it be limited to just you.
All logs need to be sent to me at megan@blist.net in .doc or .txt form PLEASE. If you have multiple parts, that's okay. The contest is officially over on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 Midnight, Eastern Standard Time. Please have everything in by then.
Please follow these guidelines for sending in your log. It would just make it so much easier for me.
In the subject, please just put "Log". In the body, please write down the title of your log, what part it is (if you are sending each part seperately), the category you think your log belongs in, your name, and your age. Thank you very much.
Good luck gang!!
