On board a ship the brig is the equivalent of a jail.
People that some how break the law are sent to one of the cells. A basic cell has a
small replicator for food rations and a bed. It is surrounded on three sides by
wall. The opening is protected by a forcefield that is controlled from the
outside. If a prisoner touches the forcefiled he/she will be shocked with a burst of
electricity. The forcefiled allows other people to talk to the prisoner without
letting him/her out. It is also important to have security personnel standing by in
case the prisoner were to get out.
